McGinnis Lochridge is pleased to announce that Travis E. Vickery has joined the firm as Of Counsel in Austin. Travis will join the firm’s Electric Energy Practice Group, drawing on his administrative law background handling cases in the electric energy, natural resources, and environmental sectors. This year has been one of growth for McGinnis Lochridge’s Electric Energy Practice Group, with partner, Kevin Haney joining the firm’s Decatur office earlier this year.

Prior to joining McGinnis Lochridge, Travis served as an administrative law judge with the State Office of Administrative Hearings, where he gained invaluable experience conducting hearings and mediations in complex contested cases referred by a number of Texas administrative and governmental agencies, including the Texas Public Utility Commission, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Department of Transportation, and Texas Department of Insurance.

“Travis brings to McGinnis Lochridge his years of experience and knowledge of the rules, regulations, statutes and case law governing the Texas electric industry,” said Melissa Salhab Sykes, Chair of the firm’s Electric Energy Practice Group. “He will be able to utilize that expertise to advise our electric cooperatives and municipally owned utility clients on regulatory matters and contested cases before the Public Utility Commission and SOAH.”

In addition to his administrative law experience, Travis is also a licensed mediator focusing on business-oriented disputes. He successfully handled a 17-hour mediation involving a $980 million real estate development.

Travis earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a Normandy Scholar.
